Daniel
By: Gabril Grayce Gaby Gandey
Daniel was one of the young Hebrews who were taken captive to Babylon. Daniel and his friends are intelligent, knowledgeable, and well-behaved people. Therefore, they were chosen to be educated for three years so that later they would work in the Palace of King Nebuchadnezzar. While in the land of Babylon, Daniel faced many trials and challenges. But Daniel always relied on God because he had spiritual principles. He also always prays to God. And he always lived humbly. That is why Daniel is always under God's protection.

During his time in Babylon, Daniel never allowed himself to compromise with sin. Daniel is very disciplined in spiritual matters. He always relies on God even though he is in difficult situations. For example, when he was served the king's meat and wine, he did not eat or drink them. Daniel's steadfast principles, we must apply in our lives. Matthew 5:37 says, "But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay..." We must not allow ourselves to go with the flow of the world.

The Bible tells us that three times a day Daniel prayed to God. Daniel never disobeyed the king's orders as long as it pleased God. Until one day, when the kingdom issued a decree to worship King Darius. Daniel disobeyed it because the commandment violated God's law. Daniel was then put into the lion's den, but God would not let him. God kept him so that the lion wouldn't eat him. Daniel is a vivid example of how the power of prayer saved his life. Let us always pray because prayer is the breath of life for Christians.
Daniel's humility made him a witness for the Babylonian kingdom. When King Nebuchadnezzar had a strange dream, no one could interpret it. Daniel also took the initiative to meet the king to be able to interpret the dream. Through struggle and prayer, God gave Daniel a vision so he could interpret King Nebuchadnezzar's dream. Praise goes to Daniel for his wisdom and abilities. But openly and unashamedly, Daniel gave all the credit to God. In humility and dependence on God, Daniel became a successful person. Success will also be ours if we live humbly and depend on God.
Daniel's story proves that living with God will lead us to success. Holding fast to spiritual principles will lead our lives not to sin. By making prayer our lifestyle, it will lead us to become strong Christian youths. Not only that, humility will lead us to live always depending on God. Let us be modern Daniels so that we can succeed in all things.
