Evolution and creation are two completely different theories for understanding the origin of the universe. Creation theory states that the world was created by God and bases belief on the Bible. On the other hand, the theory of evolution states that plants, animals, and humans are natural developments called evolution. The difference of opinion between creationism and evolutionism has given rise to much debate, so many scholars have studied these two theories. However, the theory of creation and evolution is believed by many people around the world. So, the knowledge of these two theories is increasing.
The difference of opinion between creationism and evolutionism causes great debate. Here are three things that have become a major debate between creation and evolution. The first is the beginning. The scientific theory holds that the earth was formed as a result of an explosion 55 million years ago. While the Bible states the earth was created by God as written in the book of Genesis chapter one. The second is the age of the earth. According to the Bible, the age of the earth is about 6000 years. The theory of evolution states that the age of the earth is about five billion years. The third is the dinosaur theory. The Bible does not tell us about the dinosaurs, but Paleontologists and archaeologists claim that dinosaurs lived about 65 million years ago. These differences do cause a lot of confusion and criticism, but it all comes back to their individual choices, which to believe.
Differences of opinion between the theory of creation and the theory of evolution attract the attention of experts. That is why many of them research these two theories. They put forward a lot of concrete evidence to support their research. One proof of the theory of evolution is the discovery of fossils. Fossils show species diversity and show species evolved into other species. Unlike the theory of evolution, in the theory of creation, there is no scientific evidence to prove the truth of this theory. However, Christians believe that only faith in God is solid evidence for belief in the theory of creation, as it says in Hebrews 11:1, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Although it cannot be scientifically proven, the Christian faith is proof of the theory of creation.
Almost all people around the world believe these two theories. Christians believe in the theory of creation, and others believe in the theory of evolution. Creationism is based on the belief in the Bible as the source that tells the story of creation. In six days, God created the earth and its contents, then rested on the seventh day, the Sabbath. Evolutionists believe that humans are the product of evolution, then the earth was created a long time ago, starting 4.5 billion years ago. Evolutionists also believe that God was not the founder of the earth but rather a natural phenomenon. But Christians believe that God created the earth.
As a Christian, I believe in the theory of creation. I believe that God created this world in a miraculous way that my limited thinking cannot describe. However, I also enjoy studying the theory of evolution. Not to compare it with the theory of creation, but to learn and increase knowledge only. There is no compulsion in which theory we should believe. What we will choose to believe determines our future. If we believe in the theory of creation and God, there is the promise of eternal life for us. But if we do not believe, the promised eternal life will not be our portion.
These two theories cannot be one. But both have always been hot topics for debate by experts as well as people. They provide various kinds of evidence to support each argument they argue. Many people believe in each of the theories they believe. However, there is only one correct theory, namely the theory of creation.
